This past weekend was pretty damn good. Halloween in the street of Salem MA * with 100 thousand other people* was amazing. I posted several blurry photos from that night taken with my camera phone on my facebook, but they do not capture the awesomeness of the night. The next day took us to Lincoln in search of a cemetery that has crazy trees that cover the grounds with there spiky seed ponds in the Fall. We could not find it this year, maybe next year. We did come across this "Twisted Tree" in front of the Lincoln library. I love the look of this twisted tree, I think I have also found a photo to use for that back of my book that should be out by now but I am slacking on the last bit. As with most post here below you will find a photo of Fin on Halloween, and another crazy chocolate Lab and of course the tree I spoke of. Twisted Tree and I If any of you know what kind of tree this is please let me know. :) Bernie brings you his can when it time for eats. Devil Fin Halloween 2009 snug in the leaves. ( ...Warning this is 1st thing I saw outside my back door the morning after Halloween. )
Saturday was a day and night of setting out to do one thing and ending up doing another. It started with an attempt at going to the Topfield Fair. *45* minutes in traffic before we even reached the Topfield Exit put an end to that. So we ended up dropping a few bucks on some sweet new shirts and headed home with plans on hitting Worcester to see a friends band *Todesbonden* But road lag and the closer call of the city of Boston drew us to The Psychedelic Fus and Happy mondays show at the House of Blues. Very $$$$$$$$$ Drinks but a damn fun show.
Next weekend: We will most likely be hitting the Pho Republique on Saturday night the 17th for drink to celebrate 11 year of being the Married Ed & Jenjen. :) Come Drink with us.
Here are 2 snaps from the Psychedelic Fus show :) A very happy Richard Butler and the newest guitarist Rich Good & Mars Williams (saxophone) .
So it has been almost 2 months since my last post here, at this rate the next one could be 6 months from now. But I will try not to let that happen. :D * I do love the Live Journal. I have just been posting elsewhere it's that simple.
**I really wanted to see the Fever Ray show in NYC this past Monday the 28th. I was planning on going for months. But it did not happen. I have heard that my friends Matt and ru8y were lucky enough to go. I must talk with them both this week to hear all about it.
**In other news: Some of you may know I have been working on my 2nd book for sometime. I have most of it, not all, done. Now comes the design part, and layout. I hope to pull this together by Halloween. :)
**It would not be a post on live Journal without a photo of Fin, he is now 17 as you all know and still holding his own, some days he is like the cranky old man who just want to sleep all day and not be bothered and then, BAM! he is up and barking and looking to play.
**The month ahead holds some great shows we shall be attending: The Psychedelic Furs w/the Happy Mondays, The Raveonettes w/ the Black Angles, Laura Marling, and La Roux. There are more great show in the Boston area but I just have so much cash. :)
**This weekend Jenjen is off to NYC to vend in the The Medieval Festival at Manhattan's Fort Tryon Park She will be accompanied by medievalmuse. If you you are a New Yorker or in the area check it out, this is suppose to be one of the best events of the year. I do wish I was able to go, but I will be caring for a house full of critters: a few guest and the rest our are own.
Pat just finished this beautiful arbor a few weeks back for us. Now that we have had some sun for more and 2 days it is time to stain it. :) I needed the flash in the middle of the day to get a clear snap of FIN nestled deep in one of his bushes keeping cool. and last a snap of what the Dogs had built for them. *by Pat shea of course* notice the cooling stone bed, kinda like a spar for the woofs. :)
Ok everyone enjoy the day and I'll be talking with soon. Ed
Lenore the cute little dead girl. While we were cleaning up yesterday we found an "Lenore" Doll covered in dirt, one wash later we hung her out to dry, Looking much like the hangman in a Taro deck. :) But If she was real I think she would have enjoyed drying out that way.
*After yesterdays Day-stay madhouse*the woofer's 10 strong find themselves wondering where the Hen House they so loved to chew on these past few day has gone.
The Dogs took it upon themselves to eat part of the Hen house today, dig several hole that were a least 4' deep and while I filled in the holes my dog Fin consumed 2 Butterflies and just now a bee
This weekend was filled with working as most of my weekend are, but I did find time to catch a few naps and enjoy the people and critters around me. Resting on the sofa while Connor looks on. ...a first for the House of Fin: A Duck Couple chillin in the side yard. :) ******* ( 4 more )
Back to work at 7am, looks like time to sleep. Later; E
The weekend is here at long last. It has been a good one: but Damn!! *things were off the wall*. I feel like I have so much to say but I can't find the words to type them out here for you, my Livejournal friends. So instead I fall back on a cute *snap taken of galatea_cricket tucked away in the smallest of places, (a shirt cube hanging in the closet) Have a great weekend y'all.
Maybe tomorrow I shall post more than just a photo of this cutie. Sleep Now... E
Yes, the show was awesome. Yes: I wish I could see them again, *like tomorrow*. Here are a few snaps from the show *** ( 3 more snaps )
I would have taken more but the batteries died in the camera at the start of the show, sooooo I was lucky to get these. In retrospect it was good that I had no camera for the rest of the show: because they were so good and banged out the songs in a way that made the crowed scream every word.!
I leave you with the sweet dreams gesture from Captain Sensible. ;) later: E
